Feel like you’ve lost control of your physical and emotional energy?
I’ve been coaching people to be their best for over twenty years and love seeing them thrive as they adjust the lens they’re looking through. As a mom of teengaers, I realized that I could use my talent to help moms feel less frustrated, isolated and defeated as their kids navigate the challenging teen years. Helping my clients improve their relationship with themselves and honor their needs is my superpower. You’ll love how your energy shifts and your interactions become more positive after working together! I’m excited for you to experience more peace and confidence and live the life you’re meant to live.
Hey, I'm Cheryl
As a busy working mom, it seems that you’re always trying to get more energy. You’re not only exhausted physically from taking care of everyone else, but with budding teenagers in the house, you’re probably emotionally exhausted as well. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, the best way to take back control of your energy is by creating a consistent morning routine around you. So before you do a thing for anyone else, except maybe the dog, try on these ideas.
You snooze, you lose
To start with get up when your alarm goes off. Snoozing the alarm doesn’t really help much and eats into your time for you. Try to keep your wake up time consistent and get sun on your face first thing to regulate your internal clock. This not only tells your body it’s time to get going, but starts a clock for melatonin production later in the day that helps with sleep. Check out my previous post Trouble Sleeping at Night? for more tips on getting a better night sleep.
Grateful for energy
Carve out 15-30 minutes to set a positive tone for the day. This is an absolutely must have for me. Practice gratitude by jotting down three things you’re grateful for, set your intention for how you want to feel and show up that day and/or visualize your goals and aspirations. Play uplifting music, listen to an inspiring podcast or read inspirational quotes to boost your mood.
A positive mindset with clear intention not only helps you create more energy for yourself, but it also helps you get more energy by attracting it back to you.
Energize with exercise
Get your blood pumping and those endorphins flowing with some morning exercise. Whether it’s a quick dance party in your room, a jog around the block, or a walk with your dog (you can do this while listening to an inspiring podcast), physical activity jump-starts your energy levels. It not only wakes up your muscles but also gets your brain firing on all cylinders.
Food is Energy
Intermittent fasting has become a big thing, but food not only kick starts your energy, but also your metabolism. Breakfast (break the fast) is the fuel that powers your day, so don’t wait too late in the day to eat. If you want a solid 12-14 hour fast, consider stopping when you eat earlier in the evening, say 7pm, to give you the best of both worlds. When you do eat, opt for a balanced meal that includes protein and clean fats. And don’t eat too much! That will just make you sleepy.
Consistency wins the day
Creating a more energetic day is all about consistency and setting a clear focus for you. That focus allows you to be less reactive to the things that will come at you during the day and allows you to respond more calmly and get the energy you need to keep going. So start getting up 15 minutes earlier and invest in creating more of the energy you need to be your best.
